"leader of black America" - In trying to figure out what a bright guy with lots of talent and promise raised in a white family in mixed race Hawaii is doing in a congregation that entusiastically and sadistically cheered "America's chickens are coming home to roost" the Sunday after 911 and that ate up Wright's "God Damn America" message ...... since he didn't tell us .... and maybe he can't say or even acknowledge it to himself .... I can guess that he was for some reason desparately obsessed with fitting into the "black community". So he sought out what he could ignorantly figure was the most authentic black voice he could find or at least a voice that talked the most emphatically about blackness. So that person could tell him who he is and supply him an identity. If thats the case he has a serious self-image problem and almost certainly isn't comfortable in his own skin. Compare him to Tiger Woods, who is also half black, but who doesn't seem obsessed with his blackness. An alternative explanation would be that his membership was pushed on him by his wife and he just went along. Course that would mean he's a weakling and has misrepresented how he came to be a part of the congregation. Either way, there is a serious flaw in this man. Much better to recognize this before he gets the chance to sit in the oval office.
