Complex rarely is robust. Especially when it just grows that way in a short time.

Weird to think that the institution ultimately holding the paper on my mortgage may be in China. You have to wonder how they unwind this stuff. It's become obvious that they can't unwind it in a hurry, and when things are not liquid, they lose value.

The finance guy for the NYT wrote the other day that as hard as he has tried he can't figure out the current finance system and what's going on... and he checked with everybody he could think of and none of them understood it either.

In the middle is all the hedge funds some leveraged 10 to 1 actual dollars. It's like a tightly wound spring.
