I don't have any problems with them. I'm with you! I did agree with Ted that the new ones I've bought that look like bulbs come on dim and gradually brighten. It doesn't bother me at all.

"I just can't understand why all the people on this thread have problems with CF bulbs"

I have had some infant mortality issues. Not very many. Maybe 4.

And I have them in every socket in the house.

John,

I just can't understand why all the people on this thread have problems with CF bulbs.

I don't read this thread regularly. Am I not the only one?

What I compare is how often I replace bulbs. I have about twice as many halogen + incandescent (including small decorative ones) vs. fluorescent, yet I replace more fluorescents than other, and this is while fluorescents are supposed to have a lifetime of several times of incandescent.

Maybe one of the reasons my incandescents are not dying quickly is because I have them on dimmers (gradually turning on or off), and only rarely have the dimmer at 100%. But that still does not explain CFs dying, or half dying.

Joe
