>>Because the genesis of AIDS is not understood

The genesis may not be perfectly understood but it's understood well enough to know that it wasn't cooked up as a weapon in a US lab.<<

Karen -

I agree completely.

The other thing is that if you're going to try to target a particular group for destruction, even if you accept the argument that it's something the US Government would do to 10% of its population, the AIDS virus makes no sense as a weapon.

It strikes indiscriminately, which makes it hard to see how it could be used against any particular ethnic group. And though the first known victim in the US may have been black (which I'm not sure is even correct), the gay community was hit a lot harder in the first few years.

If you combine that with your post on mental illness you seem to be calling a huge portion of the black community either stupid, or mentally ill, and you find their opinions "risible". I'm not sure we want you as point person for race relations.

Although I have a tepid opinion of religion, I've never found that telling people my opinion makes for more cordial relations, and comparisons with the Easter Bunny made people positive hostile. Imagine how productive your language would be with the black community. Now given the problem exists, how would you solve it? Clearly you can't use the language you've been using here- so what would you do?
