I don't think what he said was that bad. It was a common point- not framed exactly the way we would frame it, but I think it was along the lines of "I disagree totally with what you say, but would defend to the death your right to say it."

I apologize if my post offended, It in no way was expressed as an insult. I just thought of the generic I'll defend and prepended a poor choice of humor for the lead. Upon your reply and rereading it, I saw how there were negative interpretations.
