Hey I minimize the involvement of Hagee too. I don't think you can tar people too much by their associations. We ALL see things the way we see them- but pointing that out all the time is silly. EVERY post is really a home team pass, since we are all posting our opinions, and our opinions are of what we support, and what we criticize. So I'm not sure what the point is, except to annoy the other person by mentioning the obvious.

All one needs to do is watch how being a supporter of Obama on this board requires finding a way to minimize the evil of Wright. Do some homework, Bob, rather than simply throw posting bombs. Give us some sense that you've looked reasonably closely at Wright's work, his sermons and what he's done with the Trinity United Church of Christ. Then come back and make the case that nets out to your judgment of him as evil. Just read the sermon that Allen posted a link to. Read Obama's book and see how it is different from your very narrowly based stereotype of Wright. In short, do some homework and make your arguments.

All one needs to do is watch how being a supporter of Obama on this board requires finding a way to minimize the evil of Wright. I think that's true, in general, but not in this specific. Mme was clearly differentiating. Since differentiating is one of my hobby horses, I must reinforce her having done so. It's quite possible to support the good works of a church for 20 years despite some unrelated fault of the pastor. Applying that nuance does not "minimize the evil" but simply puts it in its proper bucket.
