Is 47 considered old these days? The good thing is that I don't feel a day over 45. Honestly, my adult life did seem to peak when I was 42. I had finally gotten my black belt in taekwondo (despite breaking numerous bones sparring with younger guys), I managed 8:20 a mile for a 20K road race, and I was still working out regularly with weights. I must weigh at least 30 lbs more (though I'll lose half that when the weather gets better), can't run around the block, and ache just from playing a father-son basketball game against my son's travel team (we won by a point thanks to a 6'6" dad who played "for real"; you can't teach height). But I can still type pretty fast, so there.
