Of course we've seen it time and again. The only way to change hate- and it's hard to change, and I think much of the time it does NOT change- is very gentle persuasion, that is non-judgmental. Very hard to change an old person's mind on something like that. Mostly you just have to wait for the generation to die off, and hope the young people are more tolerant- as young people in this country seem to be about all SORTS of things. Yay for them, I say.
