I am very fond of certain parts of my country, but indifferent to most of it. If Kansas wanted to secede, I wouldn't lift a finger to stop it. But that's not the love of country I had in mind. I had in mind more the love of "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence,[1] promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
