That sounded to me kind of like what Obama did (hands in lap, no amens, staying in seat). It didn't sound like he got any amens from Obama on this stuff. Presumably those pictures would be rapidly circulating if there were any.

Since the man is retired, I guess we can cheer. I don't know who could facilitate this kind of problem solving, and cognitive therapy requires a desire on the part of the patient to change- I imagine that desire was not present, and is even less likely to be present after what has just happened.

"cognitive therapy"

Lane. what??? the man made what is actually not an insane leap, tho a leap without proof it was. and you want him to go to therapy? cognitive, no less. but then... you not think you have a friend in haysoos either, ya? (not that i am sure he likes me) come now. please. do not diss this man for making a leap. as it turns out, from what we know now (but actually no one knows for sure) he made a false leap, but not a crazy one. should he have done all he could to gather scientific data on the subject? surely. but i will fault a gay person, or a black person, for having the thought that AIDS was planted. is too much in written words of people in power who would rather a people not exist to simply dismiss it. it is not crazy. and the only way we can move forward is to feel assured that people who would wall off SF and let them die (the person too pc to say they'd do that to black people) are not in power to make such a thing happen is to realize the reality of those thoughts and rise above it and not let those people in power.
