Choose,

I understand and know that Chinu was not the one that came up with the post that talked about throwing out the Clintons. My post was more in response to this

<<Back in the days when I first started posting on this thread, it was with the hope that finally there is a thread where we could have some serious dialog. Via this dialog, we could be persuaded to change our opinion based on not only the civility of our discussions but also on the sincerity. Yes indeed, on this thread we have and continue to exchange our thoughts in a passionate and civil manner.

Moving on, I think some of us can be more sincere with our posts. Obviously, I was not thrilled to receive garbage posts on this thread yesterday on this issue from BearBob. To elaborate, here is the original video of what Michelle said about her being proud:>>

Chinu says he comes here for serious dialogue in a civil manner. He then complains about Bearcatbob's post(which was posted with civility) on MO and calls it garbage, strictly, I believe, because it represents an opinion he disagrees with while not mentioning a post earlier in thread that mentions throwing Clinton and her supporters out of the Democratic party. I find a post talking about exclusion of an element of the democratic party as being more reprehensible than BCB's post and was bringing it to his attention. If he is going to be a monitor for the board then he needs to apply the rules to both sides, otherwise, there is no credibility. He has also posted things that I believe to have had significant falsehoods about Clinton and brought that up because it would seem to be a bit hypocritical to do that to one candidate but then complain when you feel someone does that to the candidate you support. That was my point. I don't see how anyone can be such a strong supporter of Obama, have listened to that marvelous speech he gave on racism and bias by extension, and come away without recognizing it in their own ways. Obama is saying for all of us to take their blinders off but some are choosing what they want to see without trying to look at the bigger picture. I don't write as well as I would like(I know what point I want to get across but sometimes it just comes out somewhat jumbled) but I hope this clarifies to some extent what I was trying to say. If I had to say it bluntly, don't throw garbage and then complain when garbage is thrown back.

I must have missed your post about the media treatment of Clinton(when I got up this morning there were well over 400 posts to try to go through) but obviously I agree ;-). I think all the candidates have good sides and bad sides. No one is perfect. I think we should all be adult enough here to be able to discuss these things from our own unique points of view without calls for exclusion. When people talk about divisiveness in the Democratic party, I think this is much more damaging than the primary continuing to play itself out.

In the end, I honestly don't think much of the stuff right now will have a significant effect in November. I think most Democrats will look at the economy and Iraq and decide that they can vote for the Democratic nominee. On the Republican side, I think most will look at Iraq and the economy and will stay in the fold. It will all unfold on how the independents vote that will make a difference. If they see the economy and Iraq going badly, the Dem nominee will win going away. If the economy and Iraq are going well(and I think Bush will try to paint these things in as positive light as possible just for this reason)then many will go for the Republican and McCain will win going away. My guess is that things will be a bit of a muddle for most and so it should be interesting come the fall.
