About Limbaugh..

His hypocrisy with the drug issue is one reason that I have no faith in what he says whatsoever.

If one judges what one does by words and then actions and finds a discrepancy there Rush Limbaugh typifies that.( e.g. Mr Watson...)

How many pills had he stored up ?

After he had dissed addicts to much on his shows too. Showing no compassion just hate...

He is a piece of work..

I've only listened to Rush in the last seven or so years. I don't recall anything on tobacco, no denial, just ignorance. I seem to recall I have also found a few occasions where rush was dumber than a bag of hammers. I try to listen to whomever and whatever with an open mind. I try to ignore the integration of past bias, maybe not well, but I try. In the high 90 percentile I find Rush on the mark and often defining the mark with clarity and humor.

Respect to me is all about my perception of the honesty of whatever is presented. I would judge Rush a very straight arrow.

I would occasionally listen to him to hear the arguments of the other side. That is often the best way to see if your own opinions hold water. But no more. When you can't trust what someone is telling you, you are better elsewhere.

I used to listen him during the 90s, Neal, and had much the same opinion. I had a long weekly commute to work and back, out on Monday morning and back on Thursday evening. Since this was through central PA, it was never hard to find RW commentators on some station, Rush chief among them.

I listened because he kept me awake, particularly on the trip back to Jersey. I would rehearse arguments with him in my head as one more way to keep from yawning off. Occasionally, his approach would interest me enough to check his facts once I got back. I don't recall his facts ever checking out.

Just wish I had been able to install an XM satellite radio in the car then.
