I am not proud of this story, but eighty years ago my father and a friend amused themselves near Key West by tossing small fish, into which they had inserted a stick of dynamite with a lit fuse, to sharks. The sharks would swallow the small fish whole and then explode.

Is is possible that JPM's gobbling of Bear could have a comparable result?
