And perhaps Section 8 housing.

Just for the record, you can have considerable assets and still qualify for Section 8. I researched it because I have an aunt on Section 8 and she worries about re-qualifying each year. You can have, depending on the state, as much as $100K in the bank and qualify for Section 8. A large portion of the folks in my aunt's retirement community are in the program.

So someone qualified for Medicaid would definitely qualify for Section 8.
