torah, there had been issues including the slowing eps growth you cited, trouble with the govt over porn, recent run-ins again with authorities over the edison chen's scandal. still, the year over year growth is still in the upper <1% of all stocks and they are in the highest growing part of the world. the missing cfo for nearly a quarter of the year on top of the mystery over the previous cfo's death did not help the stock. certainly, the retreat of top chinese stocks like ptr and lfc has been similar to the performance of bidu, so it's not stock specific. if the us recovers and has hit a bottom, maybe it's "us" leading the chinese back on track and through the rest of the year. this olympics rally thing really has not pan out. paul
