makeuwonder - hi - I mentioned it as a theory. I don't believe it works. My point really was that we can't be sure if anything works if all that needs to be done is to counterfeit shares.

With respect to your issue, it's probably not related to the issues we discuss here. Some brokers allow trades far away from the market while others do not as a function of their software.
