WHy didn't the Jacobs-tribe decide to build their own standardized global telecom network, all the handsets for the poor communicating global masses... Without signing on the dotted line... they might have thought they could hvae done that, but the plastic hinges kept on cracking.. the batteries went empty.. Well, they did their best.. Anyway, without the Jacobs-Tribe, USA would still be struggling with AMPS and sub/prime-US-TDMA. Sad stuff, that ATT vs Motorola domestic raping duel.. Note, there was actually a time in GSM history when Nokia used only ATT-Lucent DSPs for GSM phones, but then somebody understood that sooner or later some really silly boy, kind of from Texas will be the worst ever president of USA. Btw, I heard USA is planning on a strong comeback in Africa, after they had to get rid of their own Mobuto SeSeko.. (Why not just let the chinese take over Darfur, Liberia, Uganda and Zambesi, they have some 100 million soldiers, 300 more in search for a job, while US have none left, all 130 thousand in Iraq, not yet enough unemplugged unemployed) Unluckily it is called "AfriCom", because old Urrican traditions demands that it will be the Commander Center of Africa..
