I would have to disagree. It could be the area of the country I'm in but I do see a lot of the "you owe me because" going around here. I do think the more educated the person, the less they think they are owed something.

To the best of my knowledge, he never went to reunions. He spoke fluent German, talked about the day when we would all become Germans and to prepare for it. He also said when he was captured the last time, the Red Cross came a day later and they told the Germans to fix his jaw that had broken when he fell on some ice. He said that was when they fixed the transmitter/receiver in his teeth so they could track the movements of Americans. The letter he sent home from the first camp, the writing is smeared on the outside, the second letter was from Stalag VIII-D, he was able to walk out of there during a confused time with transfers and later was recaptured and taken to Stalag XIII-C which is where he was liberated from.
