There is a big divergence in 70-somethings; one group never exercised and started to lose mobility very quickly as the 70's loomed. My parents were like that.

Another group stays active, goes to the gym, lives on their own and gets around pretty well. Their odds of making it to their 80's are many times better.

Whenever I feel lazy about exercising, I think about my parents hobbling around so badly and it gets me out the door in a hurry.
