In a process of thousands of complex interacting decisions made by the minute, hourly and daily all the monday morning quarter backs who have their own 1% view of all issues have their 100% opinion an what really caused all of the now supposed results.>> I am not sure what you are trying to say here. But what I will say in response is that what you are referring to as monday morning quarterbacking would be something that most call history. If you desire to get your history only from one source that is your prerogative. If all you want to believe is what Rush tells you, I believe this is the wrong board for you. This is the tunnel vision I was talking about. The nice thing about this board is that there are many opinions usually discussed in an open manner.I don't agree with much of what is reported on here but I find it interesting and can decide for myself what I feel is right and wrong, important or not important. Occasionally, I find a different way to think about something and I feel that this helps me grow as a person. If you listen to Rush, you get the opposite. His opinion his way with no contrary opinions unless he decides he can make fun of it or the person describing it. If the hours of time you claim to invest in setting up your opinions is just turning on the radio and listening to Rush, you have the blinders on very tight. I am never quite sure what it is that causes some to never doubt certain sources of information. I wonder if it isn't some sort of fear of the uncertainty that comes with questioning ones beliefs. I am guessing that there is some peace in keeping the same set of beliefs. But, I believe that is what Bush has done and it is the reason why it is ending up badly. No discussion by his inner team, just blind faith that it is his way or the highway until things got so bad that he couldn't keep the same beliefs so he had to change course. Try reading something that disagrees with Rush's view of the world. State of Denial would be a good start. Lots of interviews and well researched facts in the book. You might find it interesting. Then again, if you want to stay safe and not think about anything contrarian like most who listen to Rush, just keep listening to the same monotone interpretation of the world around you. Like your view of global warming. I wish I could be as certain as you that all the science if a bunch of lies. But most of the scientists that are studying the weather for this are the best and the brightest and they seem sure. I am not sure that some(or possibly most) of the trends in the climate might be just the random changes that naturally occur. But let us say that they are right(which is very possible since they are much smarter than I am on these issues)? Are we losing our chance to save the planet? And let us say they are wrong about all this. What do we lose by developing other sources of energy that don't depend on the oil companies importing oil? The way I look at it, we do something about carbon dioxide emissions, we are in a win win situation for ourselves. We develop our own sources of energy, don't have to import oil, we don't support terrorism by sending money to countries that hate us and very possibly save the planet if these scientists are indeed correct. Keep the blinders on and stay the course, right or wrong. Take the blinders off, come up with your own different scenario which might actually make more sense. You can watch the world go by on a black and white tv and be just as happy as those that watch on a color tv. Your choice. Whatever floats your boat. Neal
