Kenneth doesn't hate the servicemen individually, but resents them as a group because they have done all the masculine things he was always to frighted to consider. He resents their bravery, their physical and psychological conditioning and their patriotism. He prefers to be around other men like himself who sit glued to a sermon about hated of homosexuals and stays for unity. He prefers the company of men who had their balls neatly snipped off by politically correct tribal activists.
