You're wrong - we are in the security phase of the war, not major military operations phase.

Assuming you think we are not running aggressive military operations, you are wrong. And "security operations" are "major military operations". 160K troops are certainly not "minor military operations".

this has been the major mistake and critique of Rumsfeld from the beginning - are you making the same mistake?

Going in was the mistake. I suppose you supported this waste of human and fiscal national treasure.

You do realize we have 70,000 in Japan and Korea and they don't even do security patrols in town. So the levels in Iraq are at worst double what they should be in the future.

Yeah right. Iraq is just like Japan and SK. And this is all going to be a fairy tale ending with a great partnership between the US and the peaceful democratic economic powerhouse of Iraq.

And they are there because of North Korea, China and Russia.

Are you making the case we need a permanent base in the Middle East?
