So the big government solution is to hire a guy to yell that at every hearing and deposition :-)

I appreciate the need to protect the integrity of testifying under oath.

Perhaps those testifying should have access to an arbiter. You may decline to answer a question pending approval of the question by the arbiter.

I learned from a recent TV show, perhaps New Amsterdam, that "saved by the bell" has nothing to do with a boxing ring but rather from the person assigned in the olden days to sit by the grave overnight listening for the bell placed in the coffin in case the person wasn't really dead. And that "graveyard shift" comes from that job.
