what you refuse to get is that liberals do understand the anger behind his hate speech. What's perplexing is that you all don't. Not only do I understand it, I explained it to you. People like to have villains to hate. It is tempting and comforting to blame ones problems on them. Trouble is Wright's statements just arent okay or reasonable - as Obama himself stated. His comments are not okay.......but its not bad to try and understand them. Furthermore, its not bad to be angry at your country and to disparage your country when its not doing the right things. You're saying "his comments are not okay" but "its not bad to be angry at your country and to disparage your country ..." Which is it? You want to have it both ways - either his comments weren't okay or they were okay. Scapegoats? What I got from the quotes is that he was disparaging the injustices of discrmination. Here you're again making excuses for Wrights hate speech. In actuality, I don't recall that he even mentioned discrimination. He accused America of inventing the AIDS virus to kill blacks. Thats not discrimination, its genocide. Its also a lie. He attacked America for nuking Japan and for knowing about the Pearl Harbor attack and letting it happen so he could condemn America for not only the way it conducted the war but for starting it too. He brought up the Sioux and anything and everything else he could think of to depict America as evil and deserving damnation and destruction. It isn't the KKK or the United States of KKKA which is killing black people, destroying their families today, and turning so many young black people into undereducated criminals, its the innercity gang culture that has grown up and so many have embraced. And what caused the inner city, the inner city gangs, the whole black culture of poverty and despair that existed for many years? At one time, blacks were both poorer and suffered under real and brutal discrimination but they mostly had intact families and their churches were strong and taught traditional values. What happened? One thing is a liberal welfare system which encouraged and rewarded family breakup. (BTW obama mentioned this in his speech.) A weakening of law enforcement and punishment leading to more crime. Secularization and coarsening of popular culture - much of the rap/hiphop trash which markets immorality and irresponsibility w/h/b banned or censored at one time. And the spread of the victimization culture and de-emphasis of personal responsibility. In other words, liberalism happened. Liberalism hurts the poor the most. Just because someone is a liberal doesn't mean they will always do or say the right thing. Not stated strongly enough. Being a liberal means they will generally do or say the wrong thing.
