lots of folks don't think of it as "spite" as you put it, they think of it as moral conscience, That depends on the actual reason behind one's vote... but, presuming the vote is made for the best choice available, then I would certainly agree with you... Remember a little 40 year march in the wilderness by a group of people that had disobeyed the Lord? I remember reading a speech once given by Golda Meier, she said the only complaint she ever had about Moses was that after wandering around in the desert for 40 years, that he ended up in the only place in the middle east that had no oil...
