Do you know what the press would have done to Obama if Obama said he was ducking bullets and running for cover when he was actually kissing children with his daughter by his side? >> While it is true that enough stupid stuff comes out from the Clinton's themselves, I still hear people bringing up South Carolina and other things. I listened to the South Carolina thing and all it sounded like to me was a statement of fact and let us see what happens next. The Obama camp and the press labeled it as a racist comment and it has stuck. And this is to a guy that opened his office in the middle of Harlem. Go figure. Meanwhile, the McCarthy statement from someone in the Obama camp from a week ago is buried and gone. I thought this statement much more offensive to someone who has fought for civil rights. Obama doesn't have to say anything bad about Clinton. Everybody else is doing it and he doesn't have to. Easy to take the high road here. Just an observation on my part. Also, a few posts back, you have seminole playing a clip of a reporter saying that the Clintons want McCain to win so she can be president in 2012 and believing it. I heard BC talking on Good Morning America last week and he said let us play the process out and see what happens. No mention of bolting from the dem party but I thought he mentioned being behind the party nominee(that part I am not sure of). So you have reporters putting words in the Clintons mouths and then you have other people believing them. You may feel otherwise and then we will have to disagree on this point. I am not a big HC fan but from where I sit, the press has been very unfavorable to her and bent over backward to keep things positive for Obama. <<Obama is NOT "politics as usual".>> Again we will have to agree to disagree on this. But I hear speeches where he promises everything to everybody Sounds like politics as usual to me Has surrogates making attacks so he doesn't have to Sounds like politics as usual to me Too busy to do his job in Washington because he has to campaign Sounds like politics as usual to me Do I think Obama will make a good president if elected? I don't know. I really don't know enough about him to tell. I think that is one of the things that is attractive about him. Since he doesn't have a big record to run on, he can come out and say things and not be contradicted by his record. That is the main reason I support HC over Obama. The devil I know is better than the devil I don't. I don't think HC will get the nomination. I think Obama will and I have some hope that he will surprise me. But I have seen enough politicians over the years promise everything and deliver nothing so I find it better to keep my expectations low. If he gets himself elected, how do you judge if he has been successful or not? What does he have to do, besides making the country feel better about themselves, in order to be considered a fair, good or great president? I think both dems will get us out of Iraq in a similar manner and will do some of the similar things in trying to boost the economy and the country for the middle class. For me, anyone that can get a decent health care bill passed that doesn't break the budget as well as get us on the road to energy independence would define a great presidency in my mind. I don't agree with the dems on immigration reform so I left that off my list. Neal
