I expect most here are not in favor of bailing out anyone.

Reagan Democrats swing to which ever party is offering the most generous welfare benefits.

So far the winner is the gravy train Bush is laying out, and this will help McCain.

>>Hillary and Baracks mortgage bailout plans<<

It's not fair to lump them together, even though you use plural "plans".

I don't know if you refer to Hillary's plans and separately to Barrack's plans.

I oppose freezing mortgage interest rates for 5 years, which was one of her first plans. It was a prime factor in me rejecting her economic plans and deciding to support Obama.

McCain knows he knows little about economics. But his campaign is caught in an FEC knot and he has no money to spend until after the convention.

It's false to think that bailout plans help the borrowers.

At this point, the best thing for the vast majority of borrowers in trouble, especially lower income borrowers, is foreclosure. If they are able to string out foreclosure for a few months, and avoid paying rent during this time, as most do, they may even come out ahead financially. Hillary may think she is helping people keep "their" houses. It sounds so good, but it's really dumb. All she is really doing is helping the lenders, and condemning the people that bought hugely overpriced houses to a life of debt bondage.
