Trying to figure out Kmiec's reasoning.

Having re-read Kmiec's statement, his reasoning seems somewhat conflicted. He opposes the war in Iraq, and takes it on faith that Obama will do better, by approaching the dangers of radical Islam from an intellectual understanding. And what's this "worldwide entity that will track, detain, prosecute, convict, punish, and thereby stem radical Islam's threat to civil order" that he'd like to see created? Run under the auspices of the UN, perhaps? Doesn't sound like a traditional Republican to me. Maybe if you listen to Obama long enough, you get a subliminal message: "You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile."
