No. This cycle is different.

The range has been 3% with guesses to 15% or higher. 50% that CR cites is not from the past in the United States. He may be projecting based on his knowledge of the interrelated factors today.

If 50% were known to be true, the DJIA would be 7,000, IMO. That's a conflict or an opportunity.

Voluntary default and decide to walk away

And why?

You can walk away from the mortgage but not the debt that it secures.

If walking away is to make sense it's because of hope that somebody (taxpayer?) will pay that debt.

No pain and the next time you get burned it may be fatal.
