That is the key point in the whole discussion. I am especially sensitive to this living in a town where the population stays constant only because people are coming in to collect the welfare at the same rate productive people leave.

I would support that if we didn't have welfare.

if we have open borders wouldn't bring a huge imbalance from mexico and south america vs the rest of the world. What makes you think it would manageable if no welfare? Mexico is a mess, and south america is a mess , i expect it ruin the country.
