They have a healthy middle class... we have corporate aristocracy, one that despises the class that supports them. Historically, respect for fellow man returns when heads roll.

The big difference is that inequality in America is much greater than in Australia. Australia Gini index is 30.5, USA is 45. The two big contributors to income equality in Australia is relatively higher taxes on high incomes, and universal health care.
