No, I cannot envision any way to positively spin the current situation at Cantarell.
Not being intimately familiar with the play I can also only guess that they have no choice but to produce gas along with their oil now, if they want to keep production numbers up.

Prudent practice would dictate that they halt production at Cantarell and allow the reservoir to stabilize (6 months, 1 year, 5 years?).
Then they would have a new, fairly well defined gas/oil contact and could begin producing near 100% oil again.
We all know that won't happen.
