"Every American should be required to pay in, so we'd all have some skin in the game."

We do pay in, we just don't get coverage.

Next question, do you cover illegals?

j, thanks for carrying the universal health care support banner here on si. as you likely know, in california kuehl drove a senate bill through legislature--SB680, i believe. the terminator stopped it. kuehl's arguments, like yours, are rational.

when speaking with colleagues and friends about universal health care, i am amazed by the illogical arguments put forth by opponents. their response appears to be fear-based and suggests that they will be losing some sort of freedom. kuehl's model shows health care choices increase for the great majority of residents--that it creates more freedom of choice, not less.

however, her model is a threat to drug and insurance companies. and, isn't a threat to insurance companies also a threat to the investment universe?

so, i suppose i shouldn't be surprised by some of the responses that respected, intelligent threadsters have posted here, e.g. the government will choose procedures or treatments.

thanks again!
