<<The study will run for three years, using 20 plug-in Escapes. But Ford has not yet set a timetable for selling plug-in SUVs. A Ford spokeswoman said Thursday that the cost of making the plug-ins is still too high for the mass market, and the company has not fully tested their durability and safety.>>

The big three in North American will have their lunch ate once again by Toyota..LOL..3 years???

This is also funny..

<<Electric utilities are running their own tests on the vehicles. Pacific Gas and Electric Co. demonstrated last year how plug-ins can act as batteries for houses, feeding power back into a home electrical system.>>

When would this take place??Not at night because they are being charged.

Not in the day because they are being used...Picture this , get off work to a discharged battery because it was putting power back in the grid ..thats OK we can charge her up with gasoline engine on the way home...nice to dream but dream dreams that make common sense.

I was sad to see what the CARB did yesterday. Our big three here are really playing with fire. The days of cheap oil are over. I just wonder if they can shift gears fast enough?

Lots of chrome won't work in the new world that is dawning.
