Myself and a few others received some very graphic death threats by an insider on Raging Bull board in 1999 when we questioned a scam stock. Real adventures back then. RB purged their boards of several years of messages to remove any potential liability. I believe there were some shady characters within RB or they were being coerced/extorted to control the tone of the posts. Hundreds of millions of dollars were at stake as the pump and dump took place, and that was just one of thousands . Message boards, being relatively new, were very influential during the bubble. An enlightening time if nothing else. There are good reasons to maintain anonymity. You never know. SI has their own little dedication Subject 21666

I got a death threat on SI back in the tech stock bubble. I think it might have been over Motorola, but possibly over Cisco.
