I dont own much . but one of the few things up today in my portfolio. I continue to be perplexed that the canadian dollar is going down against the us dollar given canadas surplus and the US printing press, unless hedge funds are continuing to be forced to liquidate positions in order to deleverage.

Management does not know reason for share activity

Just finished talking to management.
No one in Bayou Bend knows the reason for the high activity in the stock today.
We only know that Citicorp bought a huge amount of shares paying up to 65 cents Canadian for
the stock.

Also found out that Bayou Bend was successful in obtaining one of the leases they bid for
in the Federal Gulf of Mexico sale. I posted the tract number of their successful bid.

My speculation is as follows:
Someone, hedge fund or institution has grabbed on to a 5-10% stake in Bayou Bend.
Obviously these people see something in an undervalued beaten down stock.
If the buying continues on Monday, then we are looking at a serious attack to get cheap shares.
I would guess if Citicorp is respresenting someone trying to obtain either control or a serious
investment interest in Bayou Bend, it will come out next week.
When management does not know who or why the buying is going on, individual shareholders
minds go wild.

Bear in mind that asset value of just their Marsh Island position has been estimated at between 5 and
10 billion dollars, some $10 to $15 a share. At this stage these are unproven reserves and this
year's drilling ought to clear up a lot.

Management will begin this years drilling program in about two weeks according to their spokesperson.

That's all I know but things look bright.

I have no idea about these estimates just know the stock looked cheap to me when I bought in. I expect to hold this in addition to se.v, prc, bsic, dej, iox.ol, ptsg and hope some of these do well over time. vangold van.v also has some oil and gas interests.
