Ken, Texas grapefruit comes from the area where I grew up, the Rio Grande Valley in the southern tip of Texas, which is about 300 miles south of the Houston area where PatiBob, Naomi and I are located.

You're right about the grapefruit being wonderful.

Ours are from the Valley and sometimes from Florida. The Rudy Reds are from the Valley and are huge! Don't know how much they are right now but the next time I go to the store, I'll be sure to pay attention to the price.
