The United States actually turned a profit on the war in Kuwait/Iraq after reimbursements from Saudi Arabia, Japan and other nations.

Any charts or information showing net US expenditures on that war are incorrect.

There are a lot of ways to hide military spending. Every decade or so, the US govt. comes up with a new way. Department of Energy = nuclear power. NASA - for ICBMs. EPA - hides cleanup for nuclear waste sites. Dept.of Homeland security probably hides some other spending too.
