US proposes sweeping new oversight powers to the FED in a bid to avoid calamities like the current subprime crisis.

SEC would lose some of its authority and is likely to be combined with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission that regulates trade in gas, oil and other goods, the report said.

ELMAT: see the body not reacting to stimuli:

The report came as new statistics showed US consumer spending stalled in February despite rising incomes as Americans boosted savings amid recession fears.

worst case scenario debt would get added to the $9 trillion national debt, which is a chronic situation that continues to depress the dollar and raise the price of imports.

Oh, dear, Jay -- attacking the Dalai Lama?

That man is the closest thing to Jesus Christ on earth you will see in your lifetime, the real message of Jesus, before it became Paulized. Love your neighbor as yourself.

He doesn't have magical powers, he's not God or a god, doesn't pretend to be. He's a simple Buddhist monk, but he's also extremely wise and benevolent.

I told you I have a "Friend of Tibet" license plate. Did I tell you it's a vanity plate? My license plate is WWDLD.

I realize that, for reasons which are too weird for me to follow, you can't help yourself, you have to attack him, without comprehending that you're making him stronger, more popular, more beloved, raising his profile.

Much like crucifying Christ eventually brought down the pagan Roman Empire.

Similarly, let me say it before you do, torturing innocent Iraqis has destroyed US credibiity for all the world. One innocent, tortured man wearing a burlap hood appeals to the enlightened conscience in his simplicity and his humility.

You can't crush a humble man without crushing yourself.

But you won't listen. People like you never do. You can't help yourself.

It is, after all, an excellent time for the world to see how China really treats Tibetans. Go ahead, show us, the whole world is watching.

TJ, sometimes tough to be public figure.I remember the picture of Toronto mayor Mel Lastman shaking hands with a member of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang dressed in street cloths.

cbc.ca
Lastman said a guy approached him and stuck out his hand and he shook it...instant controversy.. Mel likes the hells Angels and is soft on crime!Public figures have their mugs everywhere and easy to set up sabotage.
Just as easy to sabotage Americans... do enough interviews and you will get what you want..except for the politicians in the clip... they should know better<g>
