I agree that there is a time for the legal system to step in.

That time is when there is a victim.

You could say "the children you talk about are the victims."

OK .. then charge them with child endangerment. The presence of a drug does not mean that a child is endangered. No more than a six-pack in the fridge does. If the guy is drunk and abusive, then get the kids out of the way. Same as if the person is high and abusive.

I agree!

If you do damage to others, then the legal system should make you pay.

Everyone (no exceptions) should be responsible for their own actions which affect others.

(But the government should have no part in telling adults how to live.... That way lies Big Brother.)
