The problem is that the "government" of Iraq is still not reconginized by huge portions of the Country as the legitimate employer of force. The "government" can't control its own lieutenants, as they negotiate behind the leader's back. The "Government", if actively supported by the U.S., without the support of the people themselves, is a path to further problems for the U.S. in the region.

Its not good and we can't keep pushing on this string forever....it leads nowhere.
