Because of this they are doing nothing but wasting everyones time. I agree with that. When my brother in law travels with my mother and father in law (they are close to 90 years old), guess who is given the third degree? Hint: He is a little swarthy, with dark hair. With the right get up could pass for, well, you know. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Wrong. The 90 year olds are told to remove their shoes and empty their pockets and carry-ons. I myself observed agents looking underneath old lady's watches for contraband. Yet a person in dark flowing Islamic dress orbits the huge check-in cue unmolested. How much explosive under that robe? Who knows? We'll never know. Until it's too late to stop the one wrong person waiting in line for security screening.
