Re: more than 52% of our troop deaths are a direct result of iran's support of the war against our efforts....

Eh?

(Divine illumination... or 'ya got an Earthly source for that curiously exacting 'statistic'?)

Blaming "the left" for the failure of Iraq is so weak an argument it is beneath contempt.

Isn't that just a bit harsh? I think the left, along with its supporting left wing media, has a lot to do with the prolonged difficulties in iraq... how can you not see it? To call it "beneath contempt" is kind of over the top, don't you think?

_______________-

GZ, I have a very hard time believing that anything the "left" would have done would have changed anything about the situation in Iraq. Face it, Mr. Bush had the Republican and most of the Democratic stupport for the initial invasion. He had complete control (with a republican majority in congress) for the disasterous post-invasion administration - now recognized as an immense blunder of hubris. The "left" had no power and no influence. Sure, they marched around but the European, Saudi and Asian attitudes toward the adventure in Iraq (and the lack of support) had nothing to do with the left. Even after 2006 when Congress changed hands the "left" has evidenced little material influence in the operation of the Iraq strategy.

It is just too easy to blame "the left" for the lack of planning, lack of execution, and lack of historical awareness that puts us where we are today in Iraq. Do you honestly believe the President yet recognizes the forces in play over there. I would like to think so, but I wonder...

It is no better when the left blames the right for everything that they perceive as wrong....The world's too complicated and it does little good to blame the other side for perceived fault when they had little or no influence in the course of actions taken..
