You are confusing two different matrics, GZ.

Re: "Sure, it was on the news about a week, maybe two weeks ago... roadside bombs are responsible for 52% of troop fatalities in iraq"

Yes, I know.

But that is a FAR, far cry different from being able to say that "more than 52% of our troop deaths are a direct result of iran's support of the war against our efforts", as you claimed!

The US military has NEVER made any such claim.

(For example: the Sunni insurgency is opposed to Shia Iran, and the bulk of the most spectacular bombings in Iraq have been carried-out by al Qaeda and related groups --- also Sunni, not shia, and working in opposition to Iranian influence. The Golden dome bombing, for example, which nearly brought about an immediate full scale civil war. And, the US military has also reported that the largest numbers of foreigners active in al Qaeda in Iraq have come in from Saudi Arabia, and other Sunni nations.)

True, all sides make IEDs... but Iraq is literally awash with old munitions, and it's a common tactic among *all* the insurgent groups. Still, the Iranians and Iranian agents which are deeply embedded in the Iraqi Government security ministries (such as Interior...) have less need for IED activities then the Sunnis do, for the Shiites have much of the police and military with them. (They are perhaps more directly responsible for many of those kidnapped and beheaded Sunni bodies which turn up on the sides of the roads... while the Sunnis have been more connected with the largest bombings, perhaps because of the al Qaeda linkages.)

Re: "...and it has already been reported and proven that roadside bombs are made and/or imported from iran..."

Probably 99% or so are produced right in Iraq... there is little need to 'import' any such devices --- there is no shortage of material within Iraq proper.

Where have you been, GZ? (A little too much of FOX's headlines... without glancing at the footnotes? :-)
