I can appreciate the boat trip part. That would be me in the hold, wishing to die like Adams did.

I'm a bit bothered by the production in that it seemed to diminish Jefferson and Franklin, although Franklin probably deserved his. I did not know about Dickinson holding out on signing the Declaration of Independence. It seemed to make an issue of that more than I expected, and Dickinson seemed to play a larger role than I thought.

I agree with you on the Washington role. The only thing I noticed was his uniform was immaculate and sparkling new, which must have been his show uniform. Any General who spent as much time as he did on a horse would not be that pristine most of the time.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for those men. And I hate those who denigrate them. They were men of their own times, not ours. Some of them owned slaves, but that is a hallmark of the times, not of them as American Heroes and Founders.
