We did not have a cold winter here on the East coast but have had a very cool spring. The spring melts in the heartland may yet bring massive flooding further south and west but we won't feel that here east of the Appalachian/Allegheny mountains.

Sometimes I entertain/amuse/bemuse myself by wondering what would happen if the North American thermohaline/conveyor/oscillation reversed in our lifetimes, as it has done so many times in the past.

To paraphrase Mr. Chen, buy grain!

But in North America, grain is so cheap as to be almost free. We grow vegetables as luxury goods, not staples.
