I believe the war has gone badly at times, and Bush has to accept responsibility for that (particularly, in the months immediately prior to the surge); but I've never been opposed to it because I think it is something that had to happen, and in fact, should have happened in the late 90s when Clinton allowed Saddam to repeatedly make us look weak in the eyes of the entire Middle East. Showing weakness to these fanatics does nothing other than spur them on. Dude, you all have been showing strength to these "fanatics" for the past 5 years and its doesn't deter them. What does it take for you all to learn a new trick?
