NZ has mercenaries galore in business right now, but they are sports players, who join various teams around the world for excellent financial rewards. Change their uniforms to khaki, give them some weaponry and communications systems and they'd have even more fun. Keeping wildly energetic and all too often violently belligerent young men out of trouble at home is always problematic for human societies. China has a VAST surplus thanks to the female extermination programmes they ran for so long [which TJ denied but now seems to think might have happened after all - the numbers are hard to deny, though China is always into denying the obvious]. Sports are good energy absorbers. Military service has traditionally consumed a LOT of such energies. I wonder what the spare Chinese males will be given to do. Suppressing Tibetans won't take many of them. Mqurice
