The new tax rate puts the overall county budget at $1 billion, about $200 million less than proposed by County Administrator Kirby Bowers in February.

The adopted budget allocates $755 million to Loudoun County Public Schools, a one-year increase of about $40 million, but only half of the increase sought by school leaders.
