Looks. I go by two things: 1) what are the polls telling us? and 2) who has the most money?

1) The polls are telling us very clearly that Obama will win.
2) Obama has the most money, outbankrolling McCain 3 to 1 and the 527's support of Obama dwarfs McCain and the Republican warchest 2 to 1. Between the Unions, MoveOn, the DNC, and Obama's warchest, they have half a trillion dollars to beat McCain.

A famous political operative once said: "The two most important things that predict the outcome of a political race are money, and I forgot what the other one was."

I think you and the media will have fun stringing this thing out and pretending it's a nail-biter, but the smart money isn't buying it anymore. This thing is a done deal from a statistical perspective.
